TERMS OF REFERENCE:
To administer the awards and honors program of the Organization. This includes solicitation of nominees and the ultimate selection of the candidate of choice for each award, and recommendation to the EXCOM for approval.
For each IOMP award, the AHC will contact all national member organizations and Regional Chapter to request nominations.To be responsible for making appropriate arrangements for presentation of IOMP awards at the World Congress.
To be responsible for making recommendations to the IOMP Council for the establishment of new awards. Documentation to be supplied to Council shall include suggestions for the name of the award and guidelines for selection, frequency and the type of award.
To be responsible for participation on behalf of IOMP in the IUPESM Awards Committee and will nominate to the IOMP Executive Committee participants from its members to fill the required positions on the IUPESM Awards Committee.

STRATEGIC PLAN:
To improve and streamline the entire process of nomination, selection and confirmation of awards and honours
Develop a standardised workflow covering nomination, eligibility screening, evaluation, approval, and confirmation timelines.
Introduce a centralised digital nomination and tracking system to enhance efficiency, transparency, and documentation.
Establish clear annual timelines and submission cycles for all award categories to ensure consistency across committees.
Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reviewers and selection panels to ensure fairness, confidentiality, and conflict-of-interest management.
Implement a structured feedback and reporting mechanism after each award cycle for continuous process improvement.
To enhance clarity and transparency in the nomination and selection criteria
Review and harmonise the eligibility requirements, evaluation metrics, and scoring rubrics for all awards and honours.
Publish clear guidelines, definitions, and expectations for nominators, referees, and candidates on the IOMP website.
Develop objective evaluation frameworks that recognise leadership, scientific excellence, education, clinical service, innovation and societal impact.
Ensure alignment of award criteria with IOMP’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities, including global equity and capacity building.
Provide orientation sessions for selection committee members to promote consistency and reduce bias in decision-making.
To consider the creation of new categories of awards and honours
Conduct a global needs assessment in consultation with other IOMP committees, Regional and National Member Organisations, to identify gaps in recognition.
Explore new award categories such as women leaders, early career leaders, etc.
Ensure new awards reflect established areas of medical physics effort or other individual attributes that do not otherwise have an existing recognition award.
Establish clear sustainability plans, eligibility criteria, and governance structures before launching new awards.
Periodically review the relevance and impact of all award categories to ensure they remain aligned with the rapidly evolving profession.

Strengthen transparency, diversity, and regional representation in nomination pools and selection panels.
Ensure gender balance, geographical equity and inclusivity in recognition.
Maintain proper archival records of nominations and award citations to preserve the IOMP legacy.
